If you are looking for a lightweight laptop that let you play music, surf the Web and carry out basic word processing, then the Asus Eee PC 1000HA might be the one for you. It is small, neat, nicely designed and weights 3.2 pounds. The Asus Eee PC 1000HA offers excellent performance and is good value for money.

The Asus Eee PC comes in a variety of colours and sizes and it was one of the first netbooks to feature a conventional hard drive rather than a solid state hard drive which was the norm in previous models. The 1000HA model looks very smart with its glossy painted surfaces and smooth edges. The keyboard and touchpad match the body color which I thing is quite a nice touch. However, compared to some netbooks on the market, it does feel a little chunky but that is largely due to the stock 6-cell battery which can last up to 7 hours depending on usage. Average usage though is more likely to be around 4.5 hours.
The screen on the 10 inch model comes with LED-backlit display that is a real treat to view. Colors are clear and vibrant with consistent backlit levels and excellent viewing angles. The keyboard is very comfortable to type on but I found it to be a little cramped for adult hands, which is perhaps the case for most netbooks of this size.

Overall the performance Asus Eee PC 1000HA is very good for general computing use. It is clearly not a games machine, so if gaming is your thing, this would not be a wise choice for you.
